Default 33 more schools to support students with special needs

SINGAPORE: More mainstream schools will soon be able to cater to students with special needs such as mild to moderate dyslexia and autism.
The Education Ministry said by the middle of 2008, it would provide an additional 33 schools with Special Needs Officers (SNOs).

MOE will also equip 14 schools, which are already catering to special needs students, with an additional SNO.

This means there are now 103 schools ?80 primary and 23 secondary schools ?with SNOs and more are expected in the next few years.

MOE said it hopes to recruit 236 SNOs by 2010.

The information on schools with SNOs will be made available on the MOE Primary 1 Registration website and the Secondary 1 Information Booklet.

Students with special needs will go through the normal Primary 1 registration and Secondary 1 posting process.

In the event that these students do not get a place in a school with SNO support, they may subsequently appeal to the Pupil Placement Section of MOE.

quite good for those disable and handicapped bah they dont need to travel too much to sch which cater their needs bah

to fall in love is always easy
to start a relationship is always simple
to build it, is always tough
to maintain it, is 'better said than done'
to break off, is 'easier said than done'
to remain friends after u broke off, is never possible
to forget the memories is 'always doing but never succeeding'
to heal the pain within is hard and tough and never near simple
but one has to try to heal your own heart...
