If you were asked to pick the most important two-character word in your life, what would you choose?

Some might choose "beauty", some might choose "wealth", or "health", or maybe even "life" or "freedom". A woman in bliss would say "husband".

But think about it - the most important such word in our lives, the one word which has the greatest influence on us...shouldn't it be "time"?

You may have beauty, wealth, life, freedom and health, but all are for nought if God doesn't give you the time to enjoy them. It is most tragic if God bestowed you with the most perfect husband for only three months.

Your existence is controlled by time itself. When you were young, you wished that time would pass quickly. As you grow older, you are caught out by how fast time had passed. Time slips through your fingers despite your efforts to retain it.

You could have done something even better, but for lack of time. Man often laments, "If only I had more time..." However, to have too much time may be a regret too.

A husband and his wife might have been the most blissful couple ever if their marriage lasted fifteen years. Instead, it lasted for twenty years, but the husband had a mistress during the last five years. What then?

Two lovers might have cherished the most wonderful memories of their blissful five-year relationship, if not for the torrid sixth year.

That said, time can heal or deepen your pain. Time can be too long, or too short.
