To be punctual for your appointments and lessons, investing in a good watch is a must for a start. It is about time to get a new time telling device to clothe your wrists.

Here are four major trends of what is strong this year, a little reference for you while shopping for a watch -

1. Big on Eco-chic
Solar-powered watches are fast becoming a consideration amongst watch buyers.

The concept of solar power is not new in watches, and many companies have moved in the direction of marketing their watches as eco-friendly.

But don’t rule out eco-friendliness just yet. Companies like Casio are looking to incorporate more style into their solar-powered watches so as to create bundles of joy for their environmentally conscious followers.

Casio’s solar powered G-Shock green collection ditches metallic colours for deliberately eco-conscious green hues.

2. Go for Pastels
Pastel colours seem to be in this year thanks to brands attempting to woo the female consumers.

Style-driven Timex has made a conscious effort to include shades of baby pink in their collections with pieces such as the pink Timex Camper and various pieces in their Women’s SL Series Sun Moon Collection.

If you’re not a pastel pink girl, Casio’s Baby-G is adding shades of greens and blues to their latest collections, making these shades a little less feminine.

3. Bold in design-- Oversized Dials
Oversized dials will help you make a bold, and well, big statement this year, or at the very least, serve as a constant reminder to check the time.

One of the brands spearheading this trend is Guess, and they do so with the launch of the ‘boyfriend’ watch for ladies.

Oversized and deliberately masculine, the SS10 Guess watch collection’s pieces, including the Guess Vespa and Guess Spectrum, prove that watches aren’t just men’s accessories.

Guys can also get their oversized fix with brands like Fossil, which never fails to produce bold, quality masculine watches that girls wish to wear if only their wrists were bigger.

4. White spells coolness
White accessories are usually boycotted because they get dirty easily. But think twice about avoiding white coloured watches this year. Even the likes of Dolce and Gabanna have added an array of white coloured watches into their list of things to design.

White can be classy and subtle with a thin strap, but a big white watch makes an unexpected bold statement amongst more common black, brown, and silver ones.
