The world of scandals have seen a huge wave of activity with the recent revelations of extra-marital affairs involving big-name celebrities. These include Tiger Woods (golf), John Terry (Premier League), Ashley Cole (Premier League) and the latest addition, our very own Jack Neo!
With each new scandal being revealed, I can't help but feel that these are just a tip of the ice-berg in the world of superstars and recognised personalities. Call me naive, but I do sincerely hope that this is not the case and that the values of integrity, loyalty and marriage are still very much alive even with celebrities.
Of course, I can understand that with fame, comes a huge load of temptation and opportunities to fall into this trap. I certainly will not be surprised if such celebs have gorgeous girls throwing themselves at their feet, willing to do anything for their 'heroes'. However, that is hardly an excuse for not conducting themselves in a manner befitting of their status and reputation.
I mean these celebs have kids and young innocent minds looking to them and aspiring to be like that. That is the price and reward of fame! And like the over-used cliche saying from Spiderman goes, 'With great power, comes great responsibility'. These people should know better that one of the reasons why they are making their piles of cash, is that they are also called to higher moral standards and behaviour. If you cannot deal with that, then perhaps you are deserving of all the shame and ridicule that you got to endure when the skeletons are brought out of your closet.
As you can see, I'm not the least bit sympathetic to any of these cheaters and liars. Don't do the crime if you cannot do the time. I'm pretty sure they know full well what will happen if their disgraceful acts are found out, so suck on it and face the music.
I sincerely hope for the sake of the younger generation, the humiliation and disgrace that these fallen celebs have to endure because of their indiscretion, will serve as a good warning for all celebs out there to conduct themselves honorably and with integrity. Our world can do without even more destructive influences than what we already have with drugs and crime. If celebs continue to lend their voice (albeit unintentionally) to dishonesty and cheating, we will be tipping closer to the point when it becomes acceptable and even expected to engage in such acts.

“With great power, comes great responsibility.” I totally agree with the quotation from Spiderman. This is the test of the character for one who gain wealth and power. Some will overcome and score well in the test and some … we know what will happen. When we are given the wealth and power, our character must also equal if not surpass that of our wealth and power. I hope we can all possess that inner strength.
Well u quoted wrong..
