When viewed from a distance, you can often tell from the body language of a person whether he or she is interested in you. This body language is often a subconscious reflection of the feelings the person has for you and is a good way of checking out the reaction of a person upon seeing you. This can often be more consistent and reliable than mere words as it is a spontaneous reaction arising out of the subconscious.
Let us look at some of the most common indicators to find out whether the opposite person is indeed interested or attracted towards you.
a) Someone’s eyes are always on you
b) I am so funny!
If you find that the person is easily humored and laughs a lot at your jokes, there is a pretty good chance that the party is quite attracted to you. Unless of course, you are Charlie Chaplin. Laughing at your jokes is a sign of support and interest, and the worse your jokes are, the higher the magnitude of their attraction.
c) Someone remembers
Yet another sign of interest is the manner in which he or she is able to remember the name of the woman or man you do not get along in your office or work place. That shows that your date is able to recollect ordinary information concerning you and that reflects the interest you have managed to elicit in him or her.
d) The motion of a sensual shrug
This is done by lifting the shoulder in a rather casual manner. It indicates that the person feels attracted to you and you are welcomed to come closer. If a person does this frequently during the course of a conversation, he/she has generally good feelings about you.
e) The attraction for the already romantically linked
It is interesting to note that women often find men who are already linked to someone more attractive than the ones who are single. This was confirmed through a study done in 2009 at the Oklahoma State University, where only 59% of the women who participated in the survey found single men attractive whereas close to 90% admitted their attraction for a man who is already into a relationship. This reflects the longing for something that is potentially beyond their reach.
f) The toes-in signal
If you notice somebody standing with their toes turned in, you can take that as a signal of their liking for you and this is referred to in anatomical terms as the ‘tibial torsion’ or the pigeon toe position. Standing with their toes inwards sometimes speak of feelings of infatuation and intimidation at the same time. Of course that does not mean you stare at the toes continuously to check that out.
g) Lip motions
Biting the lips or licking them is considered as a sure shot way of communicating that the person finds you attractive as the lips are sensitive and a very important organ used during sexual intimacy.
h) The position of the palms
When you are conversing with your potential love partner, take note of the manner in which the palms are positioned. If they face upwards, it indicates openness and acceptability to courtship from the psychological perspective as opposed to palms down position.
i) Facial Color
It is a natural reaction that your heart would start beating faster when you get attracted to somebody. This would result in the face becoming flushed and the palms would also become sweaty. On a lighter side, if your date happens to be a person over 90, then that could also be a heart attack indicator.
