  5. Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve
130ha, with trails and boardwalks through mangroves and freshwater wetlands

The Reserve has become well known for its wondrous birdlife, particularly during the migratory season of Sep-Mar when huge flocks of shorebirds visit the Reserve.

However, the Reserve is also home to an amazing diversity of other interesting plants and animals. Among the stars of the Reserve are a family of wild otters! The resident crocodile also results in some excitement. Lively monitor lizards abound, as do all manner of other wild creatures. More on how to tell apart crocodiles from monitor lizards.

Boardwalks take you right among the mangrove trees, to take a closer look at these strange plants. Instead of spiders, the trees are full of climbing crabs! The Reserve is also a great place to observe bizarre fishes such as the mudskipper, that can frolick out of water; and the Archer fish, that shoots insects with a jet of water.

The place is located at Neo Tiew Crescent,15 minutes away from Kranji MRT Station. Buses there include service 925C and the Kranji Express which leaves every hour from 1200 to 1700 daily. 925C leaves every half hour on Sundays and Public Holidays.

Please lah, there’s nothing in Singapore. Its culture is non-culture. It does not even qualify as a country because it sells its front and back for business and other interests.
