Mosaic: Hiromi – The Trio Project Ft. Anthony Jackson & Steve Smith
Japanese pianist-composer Hiromi Uehara will be returning to the Esplanade with the Trio Project this May! The talented musician, who has made two other appearances in Mosaic during 2006, caught the attention of jazz legends Oscar Peterson, Ahmad Jamal and Chick Corea when she was just 17. Right after being spotted by Chick Corea at Yamaha School of Music, she was invited to play with him on stage at the Tokyo Jazz Festival concert the very next day.
Joining her will be Anthony Jackson on bass and Steve Smith on drums. (more...)

In this new edition of his mad conferences, Professor Ma explores the rich interaction of these two disciplines in a two parts presentation – their history as well as the expansion in relation between the two mediums.
About the Lecher of Art
The Lecher of Art is a series of performance-lectures premised on contradicting the authoritative, anticipated and doctrinal manner in which lectures are conventionally delivered. This second series runs from April - November 2012, and will host six lecturers, each of who will engage the audience in a unique set of propositions, conflicts and possibilities – symbolising the controversy between the lecture, the lecturer, and the lecher of art.
