 What is your favourite HOME-COOKED dish?
All of us grow up with Mum's or Dad's cooking at home and there are always a couple of dishes that we feel taste better than outside (hawker) food.
My mum is a super duper cook and as she is a Peranakan, she whips up dishes that are tediously prepared - even her sambal belachan tastes unique! :biggrin4:
My favourite dish from Mum's cooking is her MANGKA CHAI (Teochew for Jackfruit curry). Hehehe... I don't think anyone here has tasted this dish before. It's super delicious man!
My mum uses unripe jackfruit - remove the skin and cut the unripe fruit into cubes and cook it in a special rempah (chilly paste) topped with coconut milk.
