Bad home draws : Birmingham (0-0), Spurs (2-2), Wigan (1-1) and Villa (2-2) = 8 points lost
Unnecessary away draws : Man City (0-0), Boro (1-1) and Birmingham (2-2) = 6 points lost
Bad home loss : ManUre (0-1) = 1 point lost
Total points lost that could have been added to our total = 15 points
Points were dropped in these games due to defensive errors and/or poor finishing. You could point to more of such games and, of course, can argue that the top 3 also dropped precious points. Well, I don't know about them, but I watched almost all of Liverpool's games and took note.
Rats! We could have been right there at the wire and may even have won the EPL!! |
