Re: Will u consider adoptin pets from animal shelters Hmm... my initial response when I read the question was "No".
Especially the small pets from the SPCA. It's $10 per tiny pet (eg. hamster), and frankly I think that's pretty ridiculous considering that u can buy one from the pet store for half the price. Not to mention... the ones that u get from a pet store are generally younger than the ones up for adoption in the SPCA. Well... I know, it's all about giving those critters a 2nd chances in life & money shouldn't be an issue, right? But look @ it frm a practical viewpoint - those small pets don't have a long lifespan, and most of them are already in their adulthood and tend to be rather uhmm... "nippy" due to neglect from their previous owners.
Those smaller ones aside... hmm how about animals like dogs or cats? Well... I like big dogs, but considering that I'm living in a HDB apartment, there's no way I can convince the SPCA to allow me to adopt one of their larger pooches even if I'm confident of providing it with ample exercise in terms of walks... etc. Cats... well, they are illegal for HDB too, so I'm not too sure if the SPCA will allow.
To sum it up, it would be so much easier to adopt from a private owner or thru' ads in various forums - even though deep down inside I would be cursing the owner for being an *** for giving up their pet.
Then again... if one day, I should happen to see a kitty that I bond with perfectly when I drop by the SPCA... heh, my "no" might just change. Yeah? To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. |
