personally, i think it matters more that the parents educate their kid(s) what is right and what is wrong. of course the media plays a part, but parents are there to guide children on the correct path, and aid them back if they show signs of side-tracking. if parents are able to have good influence over their children, i don't see how younger generations will follow the footsteps of maia, as commented by the stomper.

of course, i'm not saying that pregnancy out of wedlock is a totally-acceptable behavior in society (at least in singapore) neither do i agree to media glamorizing such behavior. no matter how open we are now, we are still, in root, a very conservative society. especially for the older generations, such situation is a big no-no. but of course, a consensus made by all doesn't mean there are no exceptions. maia lee, thinks it's perfectly okay with pre-marital sex and to be pregnant without marriage. okay, that's something we cannot change, afterall it's her decision to do whatever she likes. however, smaller news publisher (like new paper) tend to glamorize such unacceptable manners because in my opinion, they have a smaller scope of news to cover. they hardly cover stories regarding politics or money-related issues; they focus more on local gossip news and so maybe that's why they rather do a long write-up on maia's second pregnancy out of wedlock. which naturally, seems to glamorize whatever she's doing. afterall, she's a big fav. for the new paper reporters to write on right?
