Bintan Resorts is run by a Singaporean consortium. And yes, ALL the resorts there charge SGD and are expensive. Afterall, the resorts serve Singaporeans exclusively, hence I am not surprised that the prices are what they are now. But there are other places in Bintan that are cheaper. You just have to get out of the resorts. You could take the Ferry from Tanah Merah to Tanjong Pinang and take a cab to the resorts in the east of the island. These resorts are run by Indonesians and serve mainly backpackers, so things are still pretty cheap. Of course, you will have to lower the expectations in terms of comfort and fine dining..... |
