i dun drill according to the manual i cross reference from the drilling methods of other ball manufacturers which they do it for the professionals in pba
and so far what my ball driller gave me i have no complains cos i have always believed that there is no mapping, only whether the bowler himslef/herself is able to figure out the chrarcteristics of a particular ball and work the fullest potential of the ball
and if u have bowled long enough very seldom u see pple talking bout mtaching up ball speed with layout, pple always match up drilling pattern with regards to desired ball reaction/rev/lane conditions
and also ever wondered why some ball companies have 4 or 5 or 7 layouts shown in their drill chart but upon comparison its almost similar?
reason is simple, cos the ball drilling patterns are similar to each other cos the cores are either, pancake cores, symmetrical or asymmterical cores hence why its not really hard to see similarities although some ball manufacturers will release to the public what the pros are drilling but some are not
u can check out the details from the drill charts of diff ball manufacturers and see,u will see that all the drillings are more or less the same unless other wise specified

and they dun talk about ball speed also, they talk about rev rate
and fyi rev rateis NOT EQUAL to high ball speed cos we can alter the rev rate abd ball speed during our delivery hence why when it comes to ball drilling, this is not taken much into consideration
and in drilling #3 of the above chart, they talk about
Suitable for: High Ball Speed, Low RPM’s, Heavy Oil Patterns
hence why i say high ball speed is not equals to high rev rate
