S'pore wins 2 gold medals at Japan Paralympic Athletic Championships SINGAPORE : Singapore has clinched two gold medals at this year's Japan Paralympic Athletic Championships.
19-year-old Muhammad Firdaus Nordin came out tops in both the 100-metre and 200-metre wheelchair races held in Osaka on Saturday.
The Singapore Disability Sports Council said the recent wins put Firdaus in good track for the upcoming Paralympic Games to be held in Beijing next year.
The wheelchair racer was the first Singaporean to qualify for next year's Beijing Paralympic Games, when he won a silver medal at a 200-metre race, held at the International Paralympic Committee Athletics World Championships in 2006. - CNA/ms To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater.
