Ajax have accused Chelsea of going behind their backs to get Henk ten Cate as their new assistant manager. The Amsterdam club's hierarchy claim that the first they knew of Chelsea's interest was when ten Cate asked to negotiate his exit. There are no Premier League rules about approaching coaches based abroad and Ajax are not planning to take any action. Ten Cate, who was assistant to Frank Rijkaard at Barcelona and only missed out on winning the Dutch Eredivise with Ajax last season on goal difference, is expected to be formally presented at Chelsea within the next 48 hours.
