Poor little aussie gal, sure hope she's on the road to revovery from her injuries & this accident wun cause her to have any phobia of animals (dogs) in the future... :mellow3:
Frankly, I personally also do not agree with the fact that such huge & space-demanding dogs should be allowed to be reared in HDB flats [my guess is HDB DO NOT allow, but these dog owners do it on the SLY...]. Husky are dogs which can grow up to rather big in sizes and require a huge space for them to roam & run about to expend off their energies... I totally DISAGREE that huskies are not violent dogs... as these breed of dogs are used as hunting dogs in the snowy countries - imagine hunting dogs which are harmless & not fierce?!? :shifty3: Rearing such dogs in nowadays miserably small & compact HDB flats not only deprive them of their urge to expend their energy but is also a very inhumane thing to do as Singapore's hot climate is really unsuitable for them. Hence a lot of owners took them to have their thick fur trimmed off to prevent dehydration...
Imagine this dog which is already so cooped up in the flat... & when it was brought to the beach @ Sentosa, it will be so excited to be able to run around on its own - unleashed & unlashed!!! You really can't blame the gal to be there - as she has all the rights to be there in the first place. I guess the owner (Ms Wendy Goh) should really take more responsibility in making sure that the dog is under leash at all times. Turning around for just a few seconds is not a VALID EXECUSE - it could have cost the girl her life!!! :disgust2:
In my HDB estate that I stay in. I also seen many owners bringing their dogs out for a walk. Some owners have about 2 to 3 BIG dogs & they just allow them to walk around unleashed!!! I really at times feel that the lives of the few young kids & children's lives are at risk cos u never know when these animals can turn BERSEK & attack human...
PS: I'm a 100% dog lover & I'd always wanted to own a dog myself. However, I do know that rearing a dog requires more than just paying for it at the PET SHOP but alot of other responsibilities... :shifty3:
