Re: Dont ask him why. 不要审问他 Translation
Some women always grouse about how their husbands or boyfriends keep everything to themselves, but do they realise that this is because of them?
Here's an example.
Man: "The other day I went drinking with Ah Tiong-"
Woman: "When was it? Why didn't you tell me?"
Man (slightly piqued): "Ah, that was Tuesday night..."
Woman (on hearing "Tuesday night"): "Didn't you say you had to work overtime?!"
Man (dumbfounded): "..."
And so, whatever interesting things happened that night, he was no longer interested in telling her. BUT the woman just won't take it lying down.
Woman: "Who else, besides Tiong? Any other women? Where did you people go?"
At this point, the man was probably like a deflated balloon, and thought that he won't bother sharing anything in future. "I mean, what's the use? I just want to tell her about what happened, and it turned into an interrogation! Why bother? I might as well keep quiet next time!"
To all you ladies out there, if you don't want your partner to be like that, then please remember the following - what matters is that he is willing to share, not the details. If he says that he had tea with so-and-so, don't ask him which day it was. If he tells you that he had lunch with someone, don't ask him where it was. If he went drinking with someone that night, don't ask him who he went with. Give him some breathing space.
Above all, remember this, ladies: leave the interrogation to the law enforcers, it is not your job to do it.
