Yea. Cruel isn't it.
And sometimes you have to take the blame for mistakes others created.
I guess the best way is to forge close relationships with your colleagues so that the next time they wanted to do that, there will be something called a conscience hindering them. You wouldn't want to betray your friends wouldn't you.
