WORSE than a beast, was how Taiwanese police described the alleged rapist whom they finally arrested, after two months of an intensive manhunt.

The 36-year-old man from Taitung is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl, then forcing his younger brother, 17, and another 13-year-old boy at gunpoint, to do the same.
He was arrested at a hairdressing salon on Monday.
Apple Daily Taiwan reported that the incident happened in February, but the girl did not tell anyone for six months.
The man, who has previous convictions for rape and murder, is said to have invited the girl up to the mountains for a barbecue.
It is not known how the man got to know the girl.
Together with the two younger boys, they went to an isolated hut on two motorcycles.
DRINKING TOGETHER
The man then reportedly passed around a bottle of sorghum spirit.
The girl refused, but was reportedly persuaded by the man to take a few sips.
The man sent his brother to buy some more alcohol and green tea.
He allegedly continued to ply the girl with drink until she passed out.
He then asked the two younger boys to stand outside the hut, while he allegedly raped the girl.
Then he called the two boys in and reportedly forced them at gunpoint to rape the girl too.
According to Apple Daily Taiwan, he allegedly said: 'If we are going to do it, all three of us will have to do it. If we are going to be arrested, all three of us will be arrested together.'
He further threatened the boys by saying: 'If you are not willing (to rape the girl), I will kill you with my gun.'
The girl's ordeal lasted until the next day when she finally awoke in pain.
Fearful that the man might take revenge on her if she went to the police, the victim kept quiet about her rape.
But plagued by the memories of her assault, the girl kept waking up in the middle of the night.
It was only in August when her mother asked her why she was behaving strangely, that the girl finally revealed the alleged rape.
TEENS CONFESS
A police report was made and the two teens confessed to the crime immediately when arrested.
Their case was heard in juvenile court in August.
The man had, however, gone into hiding until his arrest on Monday.
He has since confessed to the crime and been charged with rape, said the police.
