Some babies are difficult to take care of - they cry and cry non-stop day and night. Needless to say, these babie's mothers are so mentally and physically exhausted by the constant call for attention, depriving the poor mothers of a good night's sleep.
I am assuming the mother in the news have to do housework, take care of her other children plus the baby WITHOUT any help. She must soooo very tired to have dropped off to sleep while she was breast-feeding her baby. The baby must also be suckling his mum's milk very very slowly and possibly could have fallen to sleep too.
Smothering could happen when the tired mum forgot she was cradling her baby and thought she was hugging a bolster in her sleep. She kind of like squash the baby close to her lor. Another possibility is, the mum has huge breasts and somehow the baby ended up under the weight of her breast even as her arm was cradling him. I believe it is the former because for a 4 mths old baby, any discomfort will result in crying.
Conclusion: One very tired baby and one very tired mum.
Result : Both so knocked out, one just slept to death and the other slept through death. |
