They were brought up in the 70s-80s with the mindset of studying hard and securing a good job. That mindset probably worked in the 70s-80s although it pretty much fails in the current context. While we can't expect the parent's mindset to change overnight, we can only hope for schools to evolve from traditional teachings to more conventional teachings and let the younger generation learn to be more creative, think out of the box, and explore unchartered territories. | |

i agree with u. even now, young parents still think tt paper qualifications are important, mainly because we ourselves know that no matter wad, ppl still look at ur certs to determine how well u are. of coz, it won't hurt if u are an all-rounder, as this gives u a slight advantage over others.
