In conclusion, its not that we ignore simple and predictable stuff, turning our back on the chaotic and threatening. But in human response, we tend to look at them behind the mask- by detaching ourself from the actual episode. Put it this way- people don't look away from those things, just desolates and view from far[to protect ourselves]...
