Divide both sides by 100
$ 1/100 = 100/100 cents -----------> $0.01 = 1 cent
=> $ 1/100 = 1 cent
Take square root both side
=> squr($1/100) = squr (1 cent) -----------> $0.01 = 1 cent [the 'trick' lies with the sqrt]
=> $ 1/10 = 1 cent
Multiply both side by 10
=> $1 = 10 cent -----------> $0.10 = 10 cents
