Is it important in China, where materialism is worshipped, whether those artistes love their art? I've watched so many documentaries of how those stars and starlets are being groomed - and I truly believe the tears from the SuperGirls are real, when they were being booted out at each stage.

The training and expectations placed upon them by their parents are very heavy, and I suspect quite a few of them would end up somewhat psychologically deformed. But on the one-in-a-million chance that they made it, the ROI would be significant.

Sad but true.
