Dream man turns into a monster
KUCHING - A 17-YEAR-OLD Indonesian girl thought she had found the man of her dreams -- only to live through a nightmare when he turned into a monster who not only hit her with a baseball bat but also locked her up and cut off part of her hair.
Ms Dewi Ningsoh, from Java, was locked in her apartment in Jalan Pending, here, by her 35-year-old boyfriend for two weeks before she was rescued, reported The New Straits Times on Tuesday.
During her captivity, she claimed she was repeatedly abused and had part of her hair cut off by the man she had befriended when she was a pub waitress in Sibu last October.
Ms Dewi's ordeal only ended when neighbours found her note appealing for help, which she had thrown out of her window moments after she was locked in the apartment.
On Sunday, police forced their way into the apartment to free the traumatised girl.
They found bruises on her body.
When met at the Kuching police headquarters, a shaken Dewi said she could not fathom her boyfriend's sudden change of attitude towards her, adding that they had moved here in February.
'He locked me up in my apartment for two weeks. Sometimes, he even beat me up with a baseball bat,' said Ms Dewi, who had come to Sarawak to work.
Kuching police Chief Assistant Commissioner Wong Wai Loong said they were waiting for Ms Dewi's medical report.
