Online journey planner to help commuters plot their travel
COMMUTERS can now plan their journey before they step out of the house.
Using a new online journey planner available on Transitlink's website, they can find out the best route with the shortest travelling time or lowest fare.
Launched by the Land Transport Authority and Transitlink on Friday, the online service (
www.transitlink.com.sg.) integrates information on both buses and trains and will help commuters travel more seamlessly.
Previously, Transitlink's journey planner catered to those who took buses only.
On the new journey planner, commuters can enter their ending and starting point. These can take the form of a block number and street, a landmark or building, a postal code, or a MRT or LRT station.
They can also choose to travel by bus, by train or both, and can specify the maximum distance they will walk.
The journey planner then offers commuters a few routes they can take to get to their destination.
These comes with maps that show the route from point to point.
The LTA and Transitlink said the transport planner is on a three-month trial, during which commuters can submit their feedback on the website.
