Some methods to approach when your ham ham got into a fight (or is in a middle of a fight...)
- If it is a mild fight (scratch scratch, sqeak sqeak), you can try to sprinkle some baby johnson powder on them. It will not create any harm to them and the purpose of this is to remove and smell or stench that has provoked them to fight.
- if the above methods does not help, quickly get some water and sprinkle on them (don't pour the water on the ham ham). It will surprise them and stop them from fighting for a while, quickly separate the ham ham that are fighting into separate cages.
If all does not help and your ham ham has bitten each other and will not let go, do not, never and never use your bare hand to separate them as they will bite into your skin (accidentally). Quickly get a glove and try to separate them quickly. If you cannot find a glove, one last resort is to use a pair of chopstick and try to separate them. Do not use the chopstick to eat....This method helps me when one of my ham ham which i newly introduce got into a big fight with another male ham ham and i couldn't find a glove on time.
So remember, when you first introduce a new ham ham to another of your ham ham in a cage, take note of their behaviour, action and how they react when they see each other. Do not leave them alone immediately as a new ham ham being introduced will tend to get into a fight with your own ham ham (due to unfamiliarity, due to fight for territory and so on)..hope all these helps
