If you want kawaii, cutesy, casual games then Wii is for you. But it might not attractive for your bf if he's a real hardcore gamer cuz not much hardcore games on this one, though its fun to play some games together.
For Wii, i can recommend:
1. Rayman Raving Rabbid 1 & 2
2. Cooking Mama
3. Elebits
4. Super Paper Mario
5. Mario Galaxy
6. Trauma Centre & New Blood
7. Wii Fit (not really a game though)
8. Super smash brawl (IMHO, me & my bf didnt really enjoy playing it so we couldnt give good review but lots of ppl having fun with it & got lots of very good reviews everywhere)
9. Endless Ocean (explorations)
10. etc..
