bnforever, misconception. SMU is not as easy as you thought. firstly, they only offer 6 courses. secondly, each course have small cohort. the entire SMU cohort is even smaller than NUS's faculty of science. to even qualify for SMU's interview, you minimum of BBB, but then, you won't get the letter of acceptance. to enter SMU, you need ABB minimum, with good GP to start with. many JC students can't qualify for SMU at all, due to the small intake. so going JC doesn't mean it's easier to get into SMU.
dianagnes, being not studious doesn't mean you cannot survive in JC. i myself is a big lazy bumbum, but i graduated from JC. JC, like i said before, is a test for maturity, your ability to manage time well for your studies, CCA(s) and your social life. JC now is quite flexible, because you get to choose your own combination... you can take the subjects that you have interest in, without any additional obligations. but of course, the better your JC is, the more flexible your combination is.
